The importance of claims reports
December 2004Reviewing reports on claims activity can save you money. It is important to verify that individuals listed on reports have actually worked for your organization. It is equally important to verify that social security numbers listed are correct. If mistakes are found, you should contact your claims manager to request a review. Keep in mind that former employees may be charged against your account for up to two years after they leave employment due to base period claims.
Reports to Trust members are available online or via mail for people who do not have web access or do not want web reports. These reports are generated monthly if there is claims activity. If you don't receive a report in the mail or there is nothing new online, then there were no claims processed for that month.
The monthly claims-processed report gives you the maximum potential liability that your agency could face if an individual is allowed benefits. This figure is a "projection" of what your agency could potentially be charged in future quarters. The life of the claim is for 52 weeks from the claim date on the report.
Quarterly charge detail reports are sent to members if there have been charges from former employees collecting benefits during that quarter.
If you need a report for a specific time period, e.g., your fiscal year or a summary for the calendar year, please send a request via email to Paul Fountain, Director of National Trust Programs for TALX UCeXpress. His email address is pfountain@talx.com. These reports are usually prepared and sent to members within a week to ten days.
